LOCATION:                  Washington, DC - Hybrid In-Office & remote

 

POSITION SUMMARY


The Junior Account Manager plays a critical support role in advancing fundraising and donor engagement efforts for one of the nation’s foremost Latino leadership organizations. This position manages a portfolio of corporate partners and donors while providing operational and administrative support to senior development staff. Working closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams, the Junior Account Manager helps execute development campaigns, steward donor relationships, support large-scale convenings, and strengthen internal operations.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


Partner and Donor Relations

  • Manage a 60 account portfolio made of corporations, foundations, trade associations, unions, and nonprofit organizations whose mission aligns with CHCI, with the goal of securing support for CHCI
  • Responsible for stewardship and renewal of donors as well as identifying and researching prospects locally, nationally, and globally who can be cultivated to support CHCI
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to cultivate major donor relationships through research, meeting coordination, and project support
  • Conduct prospect research to support new donors and partner outreach

Fundraising Strategy and External Representation

  • Help develop content for CHCI convenings on policy issues and other developments that impact the nation and Latino community and provide input as needed for all convenings with the goal of sustaining them and raising revenue
  • Represent CHCI and attend external engagements and meetings that help strengthen CHCI’s relationships with current mission partners and prospects

Development Operations & Compliance Support

  • Support data-driven development operations, including CRM optimization, reporting, and performance analysis
  • Utilize Salesforce to ensure accurate donor records, opportunity tracking, and stewardship workflows
  • Assist in revenue reconciliation processes by completing initial matching of financial and donor data

Administrative & Team Support

  • Provide administrative support to senior development leadership, including scheduling meetings, drafting agendas, and preparing materials
  • Take meeting notes and manage follow-up actions as needed
  • Provide occasional support to Account Managers during peak periods, including proposal preparation assistance, opportunity updates, and invoice requests

 

QUALIFICATIONS


Required:

  • 1-3 years of relevant work experience and/or education
  • Demonstrated success in fundraising, development, and account management
  • Exceptional organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Virtual and in-person presentation skills
  • Experience with a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Tool (e.g. Salesforce)
  • Independently meet time-sensitive deadlines and manage multiple tasks
  • Have a customer service mentality internally and externally
  • Be flexible and have a positive attitude and willingness to step in where needed
  • Commitment to the mission of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute

 

Preferred:

  • Familiarity with corporate sponsorships, grants, donor stewardship, and fundraising events
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365, web platforms, and Salesforce
  • Demonstrated interest in Latino leadership development, civic engagement, or public policy

Salary : $60,000 - $65,000
