Alluvion Health is an approved NHSC site, and this position may be eligible for National Health Service Corps (NHSC) Loan Repayment for qualified candidates. Under the FY 2026 NHSC Loan Repayment Program, eligible oral health providers may receive up to $50,000 for a two-year full-time service commitment or up to $25,000 for a two-year half-time service commitment. For 2026, eligible applicants with demonstrated Spanish-language proficiency may also qualify for a one-time enhancement award of up to $5,000.

Position Summary
The Dentist provides high-quality dentistry to patients through diagnostic, preventive, and restorative practices. This role includes performing routine dental procedures, overseeing preventive care services completed by Dental Hygienists, maintaining accurate and timely documentation, and working cooperatively with dental staff and other healthcare professionals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality clinical dentistry to patients while assuring quality of care and efficient use of resources
- Perform routine dental procedures, including fillings, crowns, extractions, root canal therapy, and other non-complex treatments
- Conduct dental evaluations, diagnosis, and treatment planning
- Oversee preventive examinations and cleanings performed by Dental Hygienists
- Document patient histories, progress notes, interventions, and treatment plans in the electronic dental record
- Maintain accurate, timely, and detailed patient charting
- Maintain confidentiality of patient and staff information
- Collaborate with dental staff, medical providers, behavioral health professionals, and referral partners
- Support and promote the mission, vision, and values of Alluvion Health
- Work independently and collaboratively as needed
- Follow verbal and written instructions, policies, and procedures
Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Graduate of an accredited Dental School, required
- One year of dental experience preferred
Licensure and Certifications
- Licensed and registered to practice Dentistry in the State of Montana, or ability to obtain prior to hire date, required
- Current DEA registration
- Valid Montana driver’s license, or ability to obtain prior to hire date, required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
The ideal candidate will have:
- Knowledge of modern dentistry and oral surgery
- Knowledge of current principles, methods, and procedures for dental evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment
- Knowledge of preventive dental care and corrective treatment methods
- Knowledge of dental terminology, medications, and medication effects
- Ability to maintain quality, safety, and infection control standards
- Ability to identify, assess, and document symptoms and patient progress
- Ability to develop and implement individualized dental care plans
- Ability to prescribe medications appropriately and within formulary guidelines
- Ability to maintain professionalism and address conflict respectfully and directly
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while functioning as part of a team
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to build effective working relationships with patients, coworkers, supervisors, and the public
- Ability to pass a criminal background check
Computer Skills
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access
- Ability to learn and effectively use Alluvion Health software applications
Language Requirements
- Fluent in English
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents
- Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or concerns
Physical Requirements
- Regularly required to sit and use hands and fingers to provide patient care and operate a computer
- Frequently required to reach with hands and arms
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds while transporting equipment and supplies
- Must have close vision, ability to focus, and ability to review electronic and printed materials for extended periods
- Must have speech and hearing clarity sufficient for communication with patients and staff
- Must be able to move throughout clinic settings and travel to other clinic sites as needed
Working Conditions
- Work is performed indoors in a climate-controlled environment approximately 95% of the time
- OSHA Exposure Category #1
