JOB SUMMARY:Responsible for maintaining inmate security in the Detention Center, including enforcement of rules, preventing escapes, escort prisoners. Additional duties as needs arise and as dictated by management, may include, but are not limited to, classification of detainees, assignment to the Alternative to Secure Detention Program, participating in the STG (Security Threat Group), transporting detainees outside the facility for various appointments or transfers between jails and prisons.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or G.E.D., 18 years of age, two years' work experience, no related experience required.
CERTIFICATION/TRAINING: Must possess and maintain a valid NM driver's license and be insurable under the County's insurance carrier. Certification required by state law or county. Must complete any and all training as required by Children, Youth and Families Department (CYFD) as well as training required by the Detention Administrator.
