What are the responsibilities and job description for the School of Performing & Visual Arts (PAVA) and Arts Education Coordinator position at Chautauqua Institution?
The Schools of Performing and Visual Arts (PAVA) and Arts Education Coordinator will provide administrative and clerical support to both areas. Primary duties include managing the Schools of PAVA student experience from the application process through their on-grounds experience and managing Arts Education K-12 program scheduling and communications with school personnel and Arts Education staff. This position is responsible for creating and processing program applications, scheduling events, communicating needs for events to appropriate stakeholders, ensuring needs are met, and serving as a liaison between service providers and participants in programming. This position will process contracts, manage participant data, process, and document payments, create participant schedules and itineraries, and communicate key information to appropriate stakeholders.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide administrative and clerical support for schools of Performing and Visual Arts (PAVA) and Arts Education.
- Serve as a liaison between faculty, artists, K-12 schools, and arts education staff.
- Coordinate all student services for schools of Performing and Visual Arts (PAVA), (housing and residence life, audition scheduling, admissions, and registration profiles.).
- Communicate scheduling and production needs for all events.
Education and Experience
- Must possess a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
- Master’s degree or equivalent experience in related fields preferred.
- Experience with K-12 and higher education settings.

Schedule and Travel
This role will work onsite in the Performing and Visual Arts office located on the Chautauqua Institution grounds in Chautauqua NY. The schedule will be primarily days Monday through Friday, September through May, and will also include daytime and evening hours, weekdays, and weekends, in the busy summer operating season and during major events.
About your Compensation
- Compensation for this position will begin at $17.00/hour with the potential for growth based on knowledge and experience.
