Bilingual Program Assistant

Function: Support Clients with daily living skills and facilitating activities.

Specific Duties:

· Assist in carrying out activity & recreational program assignments. Bilingual Program Assistant, will be responsible for engaging with Spanish Speaking clients helping with translation between Client & Staff, ensuring optimal engagement between them.

· Working with clients and Social Work to assist clients in developing their own Person- Centered Plans.

· Assist Staff with translation as needed to ensure needs, requests and preferences are met.

· Attend meetings led by the client, for Person- Centered Plan reviews with Social Work.

· Work towards Person -Centered goal plans in team environment to meet the needs of group and individual clients.

· Utilize Spanish background to promote cultural awareness and assist in incorporating cultural diversity with clients and Staff.

· Assists clients with personal care, including ambulation and toileting as needed.

· Data base entry (signing clients in/out as they arrive and depart for the day.)

· Assist with preparing with Breakfast, lunch and snack program including documentation.

· Assist with transportation program by being Agency bus Driver and/or escort.

· Participate in State mandated training as assigned by Director of Program/Facility Operations.

· Perform related work as required and assigned by Program Coordinator.

Requirements:

· Current Driver’s License mandatory- Department of Motor Vehicles background required)

· Pre-employment physical/TB skin test.

· Criminal Background clearance checks are mandatory.

· Department of Motor Vehicle Check.

· Fingerprinting.

· HHA, PCA, CNA experience.

· Experience working with senior population and/or people with health conditions or impairments.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $17.00 per hour
