What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Manager position at Chatter Creative?
About Us
At Chatter Creative, we spark conversations with authentic and distinctive storytelling. Word doesn't spread with marketing that’s same ol’, same ol’. It takes bold, unexpected ideas. Chatter cuts through the noise with breakthrough branding, custom websites, engaging social media, and strategic digital marketing campaigns. When you're ready to turn whispers into meaningful dialogue, it’s time to join our team.
The Opportunity
Chatter Creative is seeking a Project Manager to keep our campaigns and deliverables running smoothly, on time, within scope, and aligned with client goals. You’ll coordinate all internal projects and tasks, working closely with our branding & design, digital marketing, photo & video, social media, and website development teams. This is a hands-on role with high visibility across the agency. It’s perfect for someone who thrives in a creative, fast-paced environment and can transform moving parts into a seamless flow.
Who You Are
- You juggle competing priorities like a chef during dinner rush.
- You lead with confidence and clarity, even when the pressure is on.
- You’re a strong communicator who knows how to speak to clients and creatives alike.
- You collaborate naturally, but can work solo without missing a beat.
- You’re a strategic thinker who stays focused on deadlines and deliverables.
- You’re proactive, solutions-oriented, and driven to improve systems.
What You’ll Do
- Manage project timelines, budgets, deliverables, and task assignments across all departments.
- Act as the central hub between creative, marketing, leadership, and clients.
- Keep projects humming, whether it’s a last-minute tweak or a months-long build.
- Create, assign, and monitor tasks on Monday.com, ensuring the right people are looped in, timelines are realistic, and dependencies are clear.
- Field incoming emails, calls, and text messages to Chatter Creative’s general inboxes and office phone number, and route client requests appropriately, assigning tasks to the right team members, setting expectations, and providing the context needed to get the job done
- Review team members' completed work to ensure it meets project requirements, quality standards, and specific client expectations.
- Oversee website projects from kickoff to launch: review wireframes, gather assets from the clients, assign tasks, and manage client feedback.
- Schedule and support production shoots, including pre-production planning and on-site coordination.
- Monitor social media content to ensure it meets specifications and satisfies client expectations.
- Manage digital marketing efforts — from email campaigns to ad tweaks — and offer a second set of eyes on creative work.
- Schedule and participate in client meetings and take clear notes, translating feedback into actionable items.
- Maintain up-to-date project documentation and assist in creating internal status reports.
- Identify bottlenecks or inefficiencies and recommend process improvements.
What You Need To Bring
- 2–3 years of experience managing creative or marketing projects (agency experience preferred but not required).
- Familiarity with project management tools (experience with Monday.com is a plus).
- Working knowledge of email marketing platforms, Google tools, Google Ads, and social media ad platforms.
- Awareness of common file types and formats and the ability to assess whether assets are suitable for the task at hand.
- Proficiency with Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and a general understanding of Adobe Creative Cloud (you don’t need to design, but you should know your way around a file package).
- Passion for technology and a natural curiosity about how things work. You don’t need to be a developer, but you should be someone who can stay calm under pressure and troubleshoot or triage common client-facing issues like email outages, expired domains, or website downtime.
- Willingness to learn WordPress and/or make basic content updates (prior experience is a plus).
- Availability to work from our Eatontown office 2-3 days per week, and attend in-person client meetings as needed.
