What are the responsibilities and job description for the Keeper II - Hoofstock position at Chattanooga Zoo?
The Chattanooga Zoo is looking for an exceptional zookeeper to join our hoofstock team. We have a variety of hoofstock, including giraffe, warthog, blue duiker, domestic goats, camels, scottish highland steer, miniature horses, and alpaca. The ideal candidate will have experience with hoof care and training with giraffe or other large ungulates.
Animal Care Duties will include day to day husbandry, daily record keeping, routine maintenance of physical area and enclosures, assisting in veterinary procedures and medication distribution to animals, implement training and enrichment programs, assist with special projects, etc. Keeper must be able to maintain area compliance with USDA and AZA regulations and standards, including record keeping, husbandry care, training, enrichment, etc.

Candidate should have 4 year college degree or equivalent experience and at least 3 years of animal care experience, preferably in an AZA accredited facility. Candidates experienced with giraffe and hoof care are strongly preferred. The candidate must be able to lift, bend, and twist 50 lbs, also must be able to work in all types of weather.
