What will a Processor Salvage do?

POSITION PURPOSE

At Goodwill, your work as a Processor, Salvage helps transform potential into opportunity. You can make a difference! As the salvage processor you will be responsible for processing store returns as salvage to be sold in the after-retail market.

JOB FUNCTIONS

• Through words and actions support Chattanooga Goodwill’s Mission, Vision, and Values; furthermore, actions and decisions will align with organizational guiding principles.
• Maintain confidentiality concerning agency, employees, and participants. Violation of confidentiality may result in termination.
• Responsible for baling designated credential categories such as: textiles, linens, soft toys and cardboard.
• Responsible for sorting designated credentials categories such as: paired and single shoes, books, electronics, and other miscellaneous items.
• Responsible for accurately sorting and stacking computer monitors, CPUs, keyboards, and other computer materials.
• Responsible for meeting daily production goals for categories being processed.
• Ensure all bales, salvage gaylords, and palletized categories are clearly labeled with the correct category and weight.
• Maintain daily production reports.
• Wear and properly maintain and care for all PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) issued by Goodwill.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Assist other department members in performing departmental duties.
• Maintain attendance and punctuality to ensure the department operates efficiently and cost-effectively.
• Be able to work and assist in any salvage station (e.g., shoes, Dell, vertical baler, horizontal baler).
• Perform other duties as assigned.

KEY KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

• Must be able to read, write, and do simple math, listening, and speaking.
• Ability to use tape measure, scales, and other equipment.
• Knowledge of and ability to comply with all company policies and procedures.
• High School diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
• Forklift experience a plus.
