RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary Duties
o Cash management
o Verify all incoming cash from school fee collections, fundraising, and athletic activities
o Prepare deposits for bank processing
o Provide guidance to school personnel on cash management policies and procedures
o Prepare accounting transactions for all deposits to include back up documentation
o Incoming cash and checks
o Online deposits in cash accounts
o Maintain debit and purchase cards
o Incoming mail and coordinate incoming packages
o Prepare accounting transactions for online AP transactions to include back up documentation
o Debit and purchase card
o EFT payments
Additional Duties
o Record other transactions as needed for accounts receivable and accounts payable
o Prepare and maintain supporting documentation for all transactions
o Manage and track Purchase Orders
o Purchasing supplies and equipment on approved purchase orders.
o Assist with resolving customer billing discrepancies
o Assist with preparing AR invoices
o Assist with processing, updating, and tracking financial spreadsheets
o Assist in maintaining an accurate vendor list
o Assist with reviewing travel requests and claims
o Assist with balancing accounts
o Assist in preparing audit documents for annual audit
o Assist vendor bill payments: insurance, utilities and other monthly billing
o Finance Reports as needed
o Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
o Associate degree in accounting, business or finance, or a minimum of three (3) years in accounting or finance.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
o Experience in school accounting and finance
o Experience with non-profit accounting
o Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and accounting
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
o Knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
o Organization, attention to detail and time management
o Effective oral and written communication
o Interpersonal skills consistent with maintaining effective working relationships
o Ability to prepare routine accounting reports and correspondence
o Ability to analyze and resolve issues independently
o Ability to multi-task and effectively prioritize work volume
o Ability to understand and apply Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
o Ability to communicate with customers both written and verbally
Salary Range: $42,000 - $50,000 based on experience
