Reception Associate Position Available
Approximately 20 hours per week.
This position may be combined with a dance teacher position at Chattanooga Dance Theatre to create full time work.
Chattanooga Dance Theatre is looking for a bubbly, knowledgeable, and detail-oriented Reception Associate to be the heartbeat of our front lobby. In this role, you’ll be the first face our 300 student families see when they walk through the door- greeting guests, answering questions, supporting enrollment, and helping keep our studio organized, clean, and buzzing with great energy. Key Responsibilities:
- Operate the reception areas of Chattanooga Dance Theatre
- Ensure the cleanliness of the facility
- Assist the Enrollment Coordinator with enrolling students and organizing volunteers
- Assist with all studio operations by working with various departments
Responsibilities of the role will include:
- Be the face of the studio to our growing 300 family client base; build relationships with all clients; and be a major contributor to our clients’ positive experience with the studio.
- Facilities management: front lobby appearance, organization, and maintenance.
- Cleaning
- Vacuum, dust, and disinfect all high touch areas throughout the lobby, dressing rooms and studio daily
- Clean all bathroom toilets, sinks, and floor daily, ensure toilet paper in filled
- Attend the front desk approximately 20 hours a week. A set schedule will be established-mostly weekday evenings and Saturday mornings.
- Participate in weekly meeting with the enrollment coordinator and quarterly staff meetings
- Give warm welcome to every single guest
- Answer phones every time they ring (goal)
- Respond to email and VM promptly (same day)
- Be an expert in everything happening at the studio, able to inform clients about all happenings.
- Ensure all schedules, and info packs are printed and properly displayed. Ensure the organization of the front desk.
- Help market classes, performances, and events at the studio and online.
- Gather photos and videos of daily activities for the marketing team to use
- Learn and help manage dance studio software with enrollment administrator – be an expert in program offerings, registering clients
- Assist the enrollment administrator with 11 step enrollment system, re-enrollment, and promotions for enrollment
- Attend and work all major events: Back to Dance Party, Fall Festival, Spring Fling as well as at least 5 smaller events throughout the season: Nooga Nights, Birthday Parties, Cast Parties, Banquet, etc.
- Attend and work all performances throughout the year including but not limited to Mini Winter Spectacular, Nooga Nutcracker, Spring Gala, School Showcases.
- Give business-building ideas recommendations to the enrollment coordinator
- Manage all aspects of the mini dance store (sales, inventory, product orders, training employees to run the point of sale program)
- Manage merchandise and flowers for performances
Requirements:
- Must be 18 years old with a high school diploma or the equivalent
- Must have experience in dance
- Must have experience in customer service or client-facing roles
- Must have strong verbal and written communication skills
- Must have proficiency with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Gmail) or similar
- Must have the ability to work evenings and weekends as scheduled
- Must be reliable, punctual, and highly organized
- Must have the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Must have a positive, warm, and professional demeanor
- BA or BFA in Dance a plus
- Experience in sales a plus
- Experience with childcare a plus
Pay and Benefits:
- Competitive starting pay $13-$17 per hour on W2, depending on previous education and experience. Raises will be analyzed yearly, and given based on growth.
