Job Overview
The Housekeeping Staff at the Chattanooga Convention Center is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment throughout all areas of the facility, mainly focused on public restrooms, lobbies, and back-of-house spaces. The ideal candidate takes pride in their work and contributes to a positive experience for guests, clients, and team members by ensuring the convention center always looks its best.
Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, offices, back-of-house and public spaces
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and polish floors and clean carpets as needed
- Empty trash and recycling bins and dispose of waste properly
- Set up and restock supplies in restrooms and other areas
- Operate cleaning equipment safely and efficiently (e.g., floor scrubbers, vacuums)
- Report any safety hazards, damages, or maintenance issues promptly
- Follow proper cleaning procedures and adhere to facility safety standards
- Provide courteous assistance to guests and respond to housekeeping requests as needed
- Ability to follow instructions
- Assist with linen laundering as needed
- Maintain a professional appearance and uphold cleanliness standards throughout the convention center
Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Prior experience in housekeeping, janitorial services, or facility maintenance is a plus
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs, standing or walking for long periods, and performing repetitive tasks
- Spanish speaking is a plus
Must be available to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled for events.
Pay: From $14.00 per hour
