Job Title: Health Services Substitute
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Employment Status: Seasonal/Temporary
Reports to: Director of Health Services
PURPOSE/FUNCTION:
The Health Services Substitute will help with routine administrative and simple medical responsibilities in Health Services under the direction of a licensed school nurse.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide first aid for injuries.
Ensure that first aid stations are stocked and that teachers have basic first aid supplies in their room.
Assist in replenishing supplies on campus and disinfecting as needed.
Keep an accurate written record of all student visits.
Facilitate positive social exchanges for students and families with school.
Maintain confidentiality of students and families.
Follow all applicable aspects of the CCS Employee Handbook.
Other job duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of TN
Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification
At least 1–2 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in pediatrics, school health, urgent care, or related settings.
Personal faith in Jesus Christ and a commitment to the mission of Chattanooga Christian School
Experience with medication administration and management of common chronic conditions (asthma, diabetes, allergies, seizures).
Experience working with students and families from a variety of backgrounds
Skill in maintaining accurate health records and documenting care provided.
Ability to respond calmly and effectively in emergencies.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with students, staff, and parents.
Commitment to confidentiality (HIPAA/FERPA standards) and student privacy.

Is subject to normal inside and outside environmental conditions.
