Director of Platform Engineering

Our technology team is made up of a team of Software Engineers, Testers, DevOps Engineers, Security Engineers, UX Designers, Quantitative Analysts and Data Base Analysts. We build software for our clients that range across multiple sectors and industries as well as tools for our internal users to help them better serve our clients. Our team is a global team located in four different countries and multiple time zones. We interact daily with each other as well as our key business stakeholders to ensure quality and speedy delivery of our product offerings.  

In this role you will: 

• Strategic Planning: Develop and execute a comprehensive cloud infrastructure strategy that supports the company's business goals and technological needs. 
• Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of cloud engineers and architects, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. 
• Cloud Architecture: Design and implement scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud solutions, ensuring high availability and disaster recovery capabilities. 
• Vendor Management: Manage relationships with Managed Services Providers, Cloud Service Providers, and other key vendor partners, including negotiating contracts and ensuring service level agreements (SLAs) are met. 
• Security: Implement robust security measures to protect cloud infrastructure from threats and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations. 
• Performance Monitoring: Monitor cloud infrastructure performance, identifying and resolving issues to maintain optimal system functionality. 
• Budget Management: Develop and manage the cloud infrastructure budget, optimizing costs while delivering high-quality services. 
• Innovation: Stay abreast of emerging cloud technologies and trends, recommending and implementing innovative solutions to enhance the company's cloud capabilities. 
• Collaboration: Work closely with other IT leaders and business stakeholders to integrate cloud strategies with overall IT and business plans. Builds and maintains relationships with key vendors and creates cost-effective contracts 
• Leads effective performance management and professional talent development across all respective departments 

Contributors to your success:   

Ideally you will have some, or most, of the following qualifications, but more importantly you have the desire, drive, and ability to learn and become a key contributor in these areas:   

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Master's degree preferred. 
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT infrastructure management, with at least 5 years in cloud infrastructure roles. 
• Extensive knowledge in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. Strong knowledge of cloud architecture, security, and best practices. 
• Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.  
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a track record of successfully managing complex projects. 
• Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect, or Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect are highly desirable.  

Contributors to your success:  

• 10 years of progressive engineering leadership experience, including leading Cloud, DevOps, or SRE functions. 
• Proven track record building and scaling internal platforms or platform engineering functions in modern cloud environments. 
• Expertise in cloud infrastructure (Azure preferred), Container Orchestration, Terraform, CI/CD, and observability. 
• Strong understanding of site reliability principles, SLAs/SLIs/SLOs, and operational excellence. 
• Exceptional ability to influence and collaborate across technical and non-technical teams. 
• Passionate about developer experience, engineering efficiency, and building systems that scale. 
• Actively follows and consumes industry standards and trends 
• Preferred: Experience delivering platform capabilities in a regulated industry or financial services context, ideally with SOC1 & SOC2 compliance expertise.

This role involves overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of cloud-based systems to ensure optimal performance, security, and scalability. The Director will collaborate with cross-functional teams to align cloud strategies with business objectives and drive innovation in cloud technologies.
