HR Employment Associate
Chatham University welcomes applicants for the HR Employment Associate position. Under limited supervision, handles all aspects of Student and Adjunct employment. Also provides highly responsible and confidential administrative support to the Office of Human Resources.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Student Employment:
- Serve as primary support person for university staff, faculty, and students regarding student employment position requests, hiring process, contract initiation, new hire and payroll paperwork, Federal Work Study (FWS), and administrative aspects of Chatham student employment.
- Review, approve, manage, and provide quality control on student employment contracts, and perform regular analysis of budget and contract status as directed by supervisor.
- Coordinate with Career Development, Financial Aid, Business Office, and Payroll to ensure contract compliance and budget alignment tasks are completed by the relevant service area.
- Manage student employment in Workday including recruitment, job requisitions, hiring, onboarding, terminations.
- Facilitate collaboration between Career Development, Financial Aid, Business Office, and Payroll to compile aggregate data for reporting on student employment budgets, FWS awards, and related metrics.
- Provide assistance with navigating Workday Student Employment to managers and students.
- Collaborate with Career Development, Financial Aid, Business Office, and Payroll on all aspects of the student employment as necessary.
Adjunct Employment:
- Serve as primary support person for university staff and faculty regarding adjunct employment position requests, hiring process, contract initiation, new hire and payroll paperwork, and other administrative aspects of adjunct employment.
- Review, approve, manage, and provide quality control on adjunct employment contracts.
- Coordinate with relative departments to ensure contract compliance and budget alignment tasks are completed by the relevant service area.
- Manage adjunct employment in Workday including recruitment, job requisitions, hiring, onboarding, terminations.
- Facilitate collaboration between respective departments and Payroll to compile aggregate data for reporting on adjunct employment-related metrics.
- Provide assistance with navigating Workday Adjunct Employment to managers and new hires.
Administrative:
- Assists with organizing all faculty reappointment contracts, annual employee salary increase letters and promotion letters.
- Opens and surveys all incoming mail. Anticipate and take appropriate action on all correspondence.
- Answer/screens calls for the Human Resources department on a regular basis. Understand thoroughly department procedures and related information and is pro-active in responding to questions and information requests.
- Organize and maintain comprehensive files for the Human Resources department.
- Provides support on projects utilizing the HRIS system to generate various reports.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Demonstrate a commitment to offer competent and compassionate service to students, faculty and the university community.
- Cross-train to serve as backup to HR Coordinator.
Qualifications:
- One year of administrative experience
- Associate degree in business or human resources a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Customer Service Orientation
- Excellent Verbal and Writing Skills as well as attention to details
- Background in employment processes preferred
- Human Resources experience a plus
Salary Range:
$40,000 - $45,000. 35-hour work week.
