Leave Replacement Teacher of Mathematics

Summary
Chatham Middle School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Leave Replacement Teacher of Mathematics to join our dynamic educational team. This full-time position offers an opportunity to inspire and engage students in their mathematical learning journey. The ideal candidate will be passionate about teaching, committed to fostering a positive learning environment, and capable of delivering a rigorous curriculum that meets the diverse needs of middle school students. The anticipated duration of this assignment is from April 2026-June 2026.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with state standards and the school's curriculum.
• Assess and evaluate student progress through regular assignments, tests, and projects.
• Foster a classroom environment that encourages student participation, collaboration, and critical thinking.
• Provide individualized support and intervention for students who may be struggling with mathematical concepts.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues regarding student progress and classroom activities.
• Collaborate with other educators to enhance the mathematics curriculum and share best practices.
• Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events as required.
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and other necessary documentation.
• Uphold the school's policies and procedures while promoting a safe and respectful learning environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field.
• NJDOE Instructional Certificate in Middle School with Subject-Matter Specialization: Mathematics in Grades 5 - 8
• Previous teaching experience at the middle school level is preferred.
• Strong understanding of mathematical concepts and the ability to convey them effectively to students.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students.
• Proficiency in using technology and educational software to enhance classroom learning.
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive classroom environment.
• Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and engage with the school community.

Salary Range: $64,350.00
