What are the responsibilities and job description for the Certified Medical Assistant position at Chatham Family Medical Center?
Chatham Family Medical Center, an independent family practice clinic, is seeking a part time Certified Medical Assistant. Must have completed accredited Medical Assisting education program and have current AAMA or comparable certification. 32 hours weekly.
Duties include but is not limited to:
Collect, track, and maintain patient history; record any new data
Take vitals, including blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, etc.
Administer some injections
Change bandages, dressing; insert and change catheters
Collect specimens; Perform Venipunctures
Ensure rooms are kept clean and sterile
Follow state and federal mandated standards and procedures
Communicate with patients or their representatives concerning medical questions or concerns
The Certified Medical Assistant applicant must have the following:
Understanding of healthcare state standards and procedures
High level of patience, empathy and compassion
Excellent observation skills with high attention to detail
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Knowledge of medications.
