Chatham County Parks and Recreation Department has an opening for a Maintenance Supervisor to oversee construction, maintenance, and drainage work, providing daily supervision and guidance to work crews. Under the direction of a Maintenance Superintendent, you will
- Provide daily supervision, guidance, and instruction to one or more work crews performing construction, maintenance, or drainage work.
- Assist in monitoring work progress and training crew members.
- Operate light, medium, and heavy-weight equipment.
- Be assigned to the Critical Work Force Category 2, and you must be able to be on call on a 24-hour basis.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED, and
- At least three (3) years of experience in construction and/or maintenance work, including supervisory experience and experience operating medium and heavy equipment; or
- Any equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
- Must possess or be able to obtain a Georgia Commercial Pesticide Applicator License in Category 24 Ornamental and Turf within six (6) months of employment.
- Must provide and wear approved steel toe protective footwear during regular working hours.
