Position Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable High School English Teacher to deliver engaging, standards-aligned instruction in accordance with the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction and the North Carolina Standard Course of Study. The teacher fosters critical thinking, communication skills, and a love of literature while supporting the academic and personal growth of all students. This position is part-time (2 classes daily).
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with state standards in English/Language Arts.
- Create a classroom environment conducive to active learning and respectful discussion of diverse perspectives.
- Assess student progress regularly and adjust instruction based on data and individual student needs.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff.
- Participate in professional development and contribute to department and school initiatives.
- Uphold school policies, classroom expectations, and student support practices, including MTSS.
- Integrate critical thinking, analysis, and writing across content areas.
Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of NC Standards for English/Language Arts Instruction
- Ability to differentiate instruction.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills.
- Experience with digital learning platforms and instructional technology preferred.
