Job Title: Sales Associate
Job Summary:
We are looking for a dependable and customer-oriented Sales Associate to join our team. This role focuses on assisting customers with pet products, livestock supplies, and lawn and garden products while ensuring a well-organized and efficient retail environment. The ideal candidate has an interest in gardening, pet care, or rural living.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet customers and provide knowledgeable assistance on products such as animal feed, seed, fertilizer, and pet supplies
- Help customers select appropriate supplies based on their needs (e.g., livestock care, gardening, property maintenance)
- Operate the cash register and handle transactions accurately
- Stock shelves, rotate inventory, and keep the sales floor clean and organized
- Load heavy items (feed bags, hay) for customers as needed
- Receive deliveries, unload trucks, and organize inventory in storage areas
- Maintain product displays and ensure pricing and signage are accurate
- Stay informed on seasonal products and basic agricultural practices
Qualifications:
- Previous retail or farm-related experience preferred
- Basic knowledge of agriculture, livestock, pet care, lawn and garden care is a strong plus
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and perform physical tasks regularly
- Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
Work Environment:
- Combination of indoor retail space and outdoor yard area
- Regular lifting, bending, and physical activity required
- Weekend and seasonal availability may be required
