Outpatient Coder (Multi-Specialty) - Remote

$32-$36/hr | Weekly Pay | Long-Term Contract

Target Start Date: January 7 (Strong Preference)

A Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) company is hiring an experienced Outpatient Coder with multi-specialty experience for a fully remote, long-term contract role through Medix Staffing. This position offers per diem up to full-time hours, flexible scheduling, and weekly pay.

Strong preference for candidates available to start on or near January 7.

This role is best suited for coders seeking additional hours or who are currently out of work (not intended for someone leaving another full-time role).

What You'll Do

• Assign accurate ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes for outpatient encounters
• Code across multiple specialties while ensuring compliance with payer and regulatory guidelines
• Review documentation for completeness and query providers as needed
• Audit and correct coding errors to reduce denials and maximize reimbursement
• Meet productivity and quality benchmarks using an AI-supported coding platform
• Stay current on coding updates, payer rules, and compliance standards
  
  

Productivity & Quality Expectations

• Productivity: ~1 chart every 10 minutes
• Accuracy Requirement: 96%
• Software: Internal, AI-assisted coding platform (training provided)
  
  

Required Qualifications

• Active CPC certification (required)
• Outpatient coding experience in at least three (3) of the following specialties:
• Neurology
• Anesthesia
• Orthopedics
• Emergency Department (ED)
• Ambulatory Services
• Strong knowledge of outpatient coding guidelines and modifiers
• Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment
• Availability to start on or near January 7
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with AI-assisted coding tools
• High-volume outpatient or multi-specialty coding background
  
  

Schedule & Pay

• Hours: Flexible; up to 40 hours/week
• Pay Rate: $32-$36/hour (based on experience)
• Payroll: Weekly
