Duties
- Supervise and coordinate nursing staff during weekend shifts, ensuring efficient workflow and high standards of care
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history reviews
- Oversee medication administration, IV infusion procedures, catheter care, and tube feeding protocols in accordance with nursing policies
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, state healthcare regulations, and long-term care regulations while maintaining accurate medical documentation
- Manage emergency situations such falls with major injury and providing critical decision-making support
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on discharge planning, case management, and utilization review processes
- Utilize EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like PCC for documentation and data entry
Skills
- Proven experience in Long Term Care.
- Skilled in managing complex patient care including dementia care, behavioral health and geriatrics.
- Demonstrated leadership in supervising nursing teams within long-term care or hospital settings
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as PCC for accurate medical records management
- Expertise in medication administration, IV insertion/infusion, phlebotomy, sterile processing and infection control practices
- Excellent communication skills for managerial coordination, staff training, and patient-family interactions
- Ability to adhere to HIPAA privacy standards while managing sensitive medical information
