Role Description Civil Engineers at Chastain & Associates LLC will work on a variety of civil infrastructure and land development projects from concept through construction. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing engineering designs and plans, performing calculations, assisting with project planning and permitting, and coordinating with internal teams, clients, and regulatory agencies. The role involves analyzing stormwater systems, roadway layouts, utility designs, and site grading, as well as supporting project documentation and construction oversight. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Decatur, IL, requiring regular collaboration with project managers, designers, and field staff.

Qualifications
- Strong skills in Civil Engineering Design and Civil Engineering for infrastructure and land development projects.
- Experience working as Civil Engineers on multidisciplinary projects and coordinating with project teams.
- Ability to support Planning activities, including site layout, permitting, and coordination with agencies.
- Knowledge of Stormwater Management principles, including drainage design, erosion control, and compliance with local regulations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field; EIT certification preferred, PE licensure a plus.
- Proficiency with relevant design and drafting software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D or similar tools).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with attention to detail and quality standards.
- Ability to work on-site in Decatur, IL, manage multiple tasks, and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
