The Project Engineer will receive and review submittals, write and track RFI's and process change orders, prepare and maintain meeting agendas and minutes, maintain construction drawings, assist with change order pricing, participate in LEAN daily huddles and pull-planning sessions, assist the Project Manager and Superintendent with subcontract and schedule administration, and other tasks as assigned. Typically, this position will collaborate with the Superintendent and report to the Project Manager. Proficiency in Word, Excel, O365, and web-based construction management software such as CMiC and Plangrid are helpful.
Primary responsibilities
- Manage all project documentation including Construction drawings, RFI'S, Submittals, and Meeting Minutes.
- Assist Project Manager with management of the project budget. Meet monthly with Project Manager and review job costs status, projected costs, over & under lines as well as variance from prior month.
- Manage action items and follow up to ensure plan is being executed as developed
- Work with the field team & Project Manager to implement LEAN practices. Participate in Milestone Pull Plans.
- Work with the Superintendent on facilitating weekly work plan sessions.
- Work with the Project Manager & the Field staff to solve project challenges.
- Assists Superintendent in verifying that all materials installed coincide with the approved submittals.
- Utilizes Plangrid for project documentation, drawing management, and punch lists.
- Monitors and enforces OSHA safety standards to maintain a safe working environment for all teammates, Subcontractors, and site visitors.
Qualifications
- 3 years of commercial building construction management experience.
- Successful candidates will have a bachelor’s degree in construction or related field.
- Motivated individual with excellent computer, verbal and written communication skills.
- Organization skills that prove your ability to meet deadlines in a timely fashion.
