Job Summary
We are seeking a visionary Director of AI & Automation to lead our firm’s AI transformation, reporting directly to the CIO. This high-impact role will design, implement, and scale AI/automation solutions that drive measurable business outcomes—streamlining workflows, enhancing efficiency, and reducing costs. The ideal candidate will combine strategic leadership with hands-on execution, developing a 2–4-year AI roadmap while overseeing a team of engineers. You will have executive-level support, decision-making authority, and resources to shape the firm’s long-term technology strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy
- Define and execute the firm’s AI/automation strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Lead and grow a team of 7–10 AI/automation engineers; oversee hiring and talent development.
- Drive executive buy-in and cross-functional collaboration to accelerate adoption across departments.
- Establish data-driven KPIs to quantify financial/operational impact (e.g., cost savings, efficiency gains).
Implementation & Execution
- Identify and prioritize automation opportunities in collaboration with business and tech teams.
- Deliver an 18-month roadmap, including pilots, scaling initiatives, and technology investments.
- Oversee end-to-end automation: process discovery, deployment, and continuous optimization.
- Evaluate and manage third-party AI vendors/tools (e.g., RPA, GenAI, legal tech).
- Ensure compliance with legal/ethical standards, security protocols, and industry best practices.
Innovation & Technology
- Stay ahead of emerging AI trends (GenAI, ML, NLP, LLMOps) and integrate cutting-edge solutions.
- Apply advanced analytics (Python, SQL, TensorFlow) to derive insights from large datasets.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and MLOps frameworks.
- Optimize production-grade ML systems and scalable automation workflows.
Qualifications
Required
- 5 years in AI/ML, automation, or software development, with 2 years in leadership.
- Proven track record of delivering AI/automation solutions (RPA, AI agents, legal tech).
- Expertise in Python, SQL, scikit-learn, TensorFlow, and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).
- Strong stakeholder management—ability to translate technical concepts for executives.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or related field.
Preferred
- Advanced degree (Master’s/PhD) in ML, Robotics, or Business Management.
- Experience in legal/professional services or regulated industries.
- Certifications: Certified Analytics Professional (CAP), AWS/Azure ML, or RPA tools.
- Familiarity with computer vision, NLP, and predictive analytics.
