What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manufacturing Quality Inspector position at Chase Technical?
Duties and Responsibilities
Keep records of calibration that take place
Perform calibrations of hand-held gauges such as: Callipers, micrometer, air gauges, air spindles, test blocks, torque wrenches, depth gauges, and other gauges that can be calibrated internally.
Calibrate gauges that are fixed in assembly area/test stands: Flow meters, pressure transducers, collets, vacuum gauges and others.
Verify calibration status of electric torque wrenches
Assist in outside calibration activities by creating and receiving POs
Communicate to team when equipment is found out of calibration.
Communicate the need to update calibration documents when needed.
Update Q-Pulse and daily workload
Perform calibrations on time
Communicate the need to create TDRs for when schedule cannot be met.
Participate in Gage R&R’s.
Complete work load on time
Able to communicate processes for internal and external audits.
Assist on documented continuous improvement projects
Performs other duties as assigned by manager/supervisor.
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to do the following:
Standing and repetitive lifting
Ability to stay on task for long periods of time
Must be able to stand and sit for long periods of time
Ability to lift 35-50 lbs.
Work Environment
A portion of the work time is spent in a manufacturing environment where temperatures are often warm or cool, depending upon the season, and noise level can be moderate to high. The remaining of the time will be in a temperature controlled room.
PPE required as determined by company safety standards: safety glasses, ear plugs, gloves, safety shoes
Qualifications
HS school diploma or equivalent
Some manufacturing experience a plus
Proficient with MS Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and Outlook
Able to read written instructions, visual control plans and diagrams
Strong math skills
Ability to function effectively as part of a team
Knowledge of quality control equipment such as calipers, micrometers, gauges preferred
Ability to see details at close range
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions given in English
Must be able to meet quality and productivity standards
