We’re passionate about bringing events to life—and we’re looking for a driven Sales Account Executive (SAE) to join our team in Detroit.


Role Overview

As a Sales Account Executive, you’ll be responsible for building and growing client relationships in the Detroit metro area while also looking to expand opportunities into other markets. This role combines account management and business development: you’ll nurture existing accounts, generate repeat business, and pursue new leads with the goal of driving long-term growth.

Using LASSO rental software, you’ll write quotes, create polished proposal packages, support clients on-site, and oversee projects from initial contact to post-event follow-up. This is a great opportunity for someone with experience in audiovisual, events, hospitality, or venue sales who thrives on independence, collaboration, and results.


Key Responsibilities

  • Account Management – Act as the main point of contact for assigned clients; build strong relationships; ensure client satisfaction; identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling.
  • Business Development – Prospect, pitch, and close new business opportunities through networking, outreach, and industry events. Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation to a signed contract.
  • Client Solutions – Clearly communicate AV solutions that best meet client needs and deliver value.
  • Market Outreach – Develop and execute strategies to identify new clients, venues, and partnerships.
  • Collaboration – Partner with project managers, technicians, and warehouse staff to ensure smooth event execution, on-time delivery, and budget alignment.
  • Proposal Development – Create detailed proposal packages including quotes, scope of work, visuals, and other supporting materials.
  • Sales Tracking – Maintain accurate records of leads, opportunities, and client communication in sales tools (e.g., Excel, CRM, or assigned software).
  • Client Engagement – Arrange meetings, site visits, and on-site support; manage change orders; oversee post-show follow-up and invoicing approval.
  • Networking – Attend quarterly (minimum) networking events, trade shows, and social functions to expand visibility and grow the client base.


Requirements

  • 3 years of experience in audiovisual, event management, hospitality, or related industries, with direct experience in sales, account management, or business development (B2B preferred).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to multitask in a calm, confident manner.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and strong computer skills to build proposals and manage client communication.
  • Highly organized with keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently while meeting deadlines.
  • On-site presence is required at our Plymouth, MI office.
  • Limited travel required for client meetings and events.
  • Demonstrated success in achieving measurable results within the first 90 days.


Preferred Background

Candidates with experience in event planning, conference management, the automotive industry, or hotel/venue sales will be highly considered. A self-motivated, ambitious mindset is key to thriving in this role.
