What are the responsibilities and job description for the Plant Engineer position at Chase & Associates?
Chase and Associates is partnering with an established, family-owned packaging leader as they expand into sustainable manufacturing. We are seeking a Plant Engineer to be the technical lead for installing and commissioning new, state-of-the-art equipment in Sugar Land, TX.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead equipment installation, commissioning, and startup from planning to handoff.
- Serve as the key liaison between OEMs, contractors, and internal Operations, Maintenance, & IT teams.
- Develop PM plans, ensure accurate documentation (SAP, AutoCAD), and drive reliability.
- Integrate equipment with building automation and data systems for Industry 4.0 initiatives.
What You Need:
- MUST HAVE: Direct experience in paper bag converting, flexible packaging, or high-speed converting operations.
- Hands-on experience managing industrial equipment installation/commissioning.
- Bachelor’s in Engineering and 5 years in plant/maintenance engineering.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and CMMS (SAP preferred).
- Strong mechanical/electrical knowledge of high-speed machinery.
