Job Description: The Community Outreach Director leads and executes all community engagement initiatives to enhance the visibility and reputation of Chas. Verheyden, Inc. This role is essential in building relationships with community partners, educating the public about funeral and cremation services, and increasing brand awareness and lead generation. The position collaborates closely with funeral home staff, prearrangement specialists, and leadership to meet performance goals and grow both at-need and pre-need call volume.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and execute visits with hospice, healthcare workers, clergy, veterans groups, and senior communities to build partnerships and educate stakeholders.
- Support and organize community activities including birthdays, grief support events, ice cream socials, and more.
- Participate in health fairs, senior expos, networking events, and civic organizations.
- Collaborate with prearrangement specialists to host lunch & learns and other events.
- Manage outreach records via Quickbase, logging visits, events, social media posts, and digital activities.
- Attend weekly and monthly outreach team meetings and strategy sessions.
- Create and post content on approved social media platforms and maintain a digital brand presence.
- Offer support to internal staff and event partners with scheduling, logistics, and materials.
- Serve as a brand ambassador, maintaining professionalism on and off the clock.
Qualifications
- Strong communication, relationship-building, and marketing skills.
- Creativity in event planning and outreach strategy.
- Proficiency in Google Suite, Canva, Adobe, and social media tools.
- Exceptional organization and attention to detail.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical event tasks.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
- Funeral Director license or eligibility (for full-time candidates).
- 2 years of experience in funeral service, marketing, or outreach roles.
