Job Summary
Chartwell Financial Advisory, Inc. is a growing financial advisory firm built on integrity, continuous improvement, and client service. The Staff Accountant will focus primarily on accounts payable, vendor management, month-end close, and time entry reporting. The ideal candidate has working knowledge of GAAP and can work both independently and as part of a team.
Summary of essential job functions
- Prepare monthly and semi-monthly client invoices
- Support the monthly close process, including preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations
- Prepare supporting documentation and participating in the Company’s annual audit(s)
- Prepare monthly bank reconciliations
- Approve and post weekly time sheets for individuals across the firm
- Responsible for Intercompany reconciliations and journal entries
- Process vendor invoices, including coding to appropriate projects and general ledger accounts and making payments on a timely basis
- Maintenance of vendor records and facilitate annual IRS 1099 filings
- Assist with corporate credit card program management
- Preparation and filing of multiple state sales and use tax returns
- Responsible for fixed asset tracking and depreciation schedules
- Other assigned duties and analyses as requested
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 2 -4 years of accounting experience (preferred)
- Exhibits a high degree of professionalism and business maturity
- Demonstrated experience with multitasking under little supervision
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Acute attention to detail and a dedication to providing high quality work products
- Willingness to work hard with a positive attitude
- Ability to anticipate demands and actively manage departmental needs
- Manages deadlines and timeframes to drive and achieve results
- Demonstrated proficiency using MS Office products (Outlook, Word, and Excel)
- Experience in a professional services or financial advisory environment (preferred)
- Experience using Deltek Vantagepoint (preferred)
The base salary for this role is $70,000 - $80,000.
