Your Role: IT System Administrator Intern

The primary objective of the IT System Administrator Intern – Service Mapping project is to support the organization’s efforts in building accurate and comprehensive ServiceNow service maps for its top ten business-critical applications. The intern will be responsible for identifying, documenting, and mapping all infrastructure and application-level dependencies including servers, switches, databases, APIs, and other components required to support each critical application. This information will be translated into formal service maps within ServiceNow. The intern will collaborate with IT teams and product owners to capture technical and business requirements, validate dependencies, and create visual flow diagrams using Visio to support clear documentation and understanding of each service. This work will directly contribute to improved incident response, change management, and operational efficiency.

Credentials, Experience, or Skills

• Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Understanding of IT infrastructure, including software deployment and management is beneficial but not required.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to learn and adapt quickly to new tools and technologies.
• Ability to interpret and work with process diagrams, role matrices, and group schemas.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Understanding of Active Directory, user roles, and group-based access controls is beneficial.
• Comfortable working with role-based access control (RBAC) concepts.
• Previous experience in system administration is a plus.
