About the Role
CharterCARE Health of Rhode Island is looking for dedicated Security Officers to help protect our patients, visitors, and staff across our hospital campuses. This is a great opportunity for someone with a background in security, law enforcement, or the military who wants meaningful work in a healthcare environment.
What You'll Do
- Ensure the safety and security of all patients, visitors, and employees throughout the facility.
- Respond calmly and professionally to difficult, high-pressure, or confrontational situations.
- Apply CHRI policies and procedures to make sound decisions in the moment.
- Treat every person you interact with, including patients, families, and staff, with dignity and respect.
- May include automobile patrol duties and coverage across all areas of the hospital, including patient care units.
What You'll Need
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license
- At least 18 years of age
- 1 year of security or law enforcement experience, OR 2 years of military experience (preferred)
- Customer service experience a plus
- Criminal justice education or background a plus
- Strong English communication skills
- Ability to stand, walk, and be on your feet for extended periods; may include running when needed
Compensation: Starting at $24/hour, with pay increasing based on experience (up to $35.70/hour for 30 years). Shift differentials: $1.50/hour for 2nd shift, $2.50/hour for 3rd shift.
