What are the responsibilities and job description for the Secretary, Unit (SW) position at CharterCARE of Rhode Island?
Summary: Performs a variety of clerical duties in connection with preparing, compiling and maintaining patient and hospital records in nursing service unit. Coordinates activities in unit such as scheduling patient’s tests as ordered by physician. Performs other clerical and accommodative services to assist the nursing staff. Transcribes physician’s orders onto unit records and files for nursing personnel. Prepares requisitions ordering laboratory tests, x-ray exams, blood tests and consultations requested by the physician. Orders medications and supplies for pre/post-operative patients. Regularly performs function of unit receptionist.
Education: High School Diploma or GED.
