Duties
- Manage and maintain official township records, including minutes, ordinances, resolutions, and legal documents with precision and attention to detail
- Respond promptly to inquiries from residents, vendors, and government agencies via phone, email, or in person using professional phone etiquette and multi-line phone systems
- Coordinate calendar management for township meetings, events, and deadlines using Microsoft Office and Google Workspace tools
- Handle front desk responsibilities by greeting visitors warmly, providing information, and directing them appropriately
- Perform data entry tasks such as updating databases with information on permits, licenses, or public notices using computer literacy skills and bookkeeping software like BSA.
- Assist with office management duties including filing, proofreading documents, managing multi-line phone systems, and supporting clerical tasks to ensure efficient office operations
- Support bookkeeping activities related to township finances by tracking expenses and maintaining financial records with accuracy
Requirements
- Proven experience in office management or clerical roles within a government or municipal setting preferred
- Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets), and data entry applications
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively and manage time efficiently
- Demonstrated experience with BSA or similar bookkeeping software is highly desirable
- Exceptional customer service skills with courteous phone etiquette and professional demeanor at the front desk
- Attention to detail for proofreading documents and maintaining accurate records
- Knowledge of office equipment such as multi-line phone systems and filing systems is essential
