Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with curriculum standards.
- Utilize various teaching methods and technologies to enhance student learning experiences.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a conducive learning environment.
- Assess student progress through standardized testing and provide feedback on academic performance.
- Mentor students individually or in small groups to support their educational goals.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development and instructional design initiatives.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and other pertinent information.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress and classroom activities.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay current with educational trends.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Education or related field; higher education teaching experience is preferred.
- Strong understanding of curriculum development, lesson planning, and classroom management techniques.
- Proficiency in literacy education, math instruction, and creative writing skills.
- Familiarity with AP style, Chicago Manual of Style, copy editing, proofreading, and research methodologies.
- Experience working with students in various capacities, including tutoring, mentoring, or special education settings.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage students effectively.
- Strong organizational skills to manage classroom activities and administrative tasks efficiently.
- Knowledge of learning technology tools that enhance instructional delivery.
