Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards that incorporate modern learning technologies and instructional strategies.
- Deliver engaging math instruction covering topics such as algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, and discrete math to middle school students.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a safe and productive learning environment through classroom management techniques.
- Assess student progress regularly using standardized testing and formative assessments; provide timely feedback to support student improvement.
- Incorporate laboratory activities when applicable, including dissection and research laboratory experiences related to biology or chemistry topics like biochemistry, microbiology, genetics, molecular biology, and cell biology.
- Utilize instructional design principles to adapt lessons for diverse learners, including students requiring special education accommodations.
- Mentor students academically and personally, providing guidance on educational pathways such as higher education or research opportunities.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, research projects, library services integration, and educational administration tasks.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with advancements in teaching methodologies, scientific research, and educational technology tools.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field; advanced degrees or certifications in science or special education are preferred.
- Proven classroom experience teaching middle school mathematics with demonstrated success in lesson planning and classroom management.
- Strong knowledge of mathematical concepts, including algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, differential equations, discrete math, and proofing techniques.
- Experience integrating learning technology into instruction and designing engaging lessons that incorporate scientific research or laboratory activities when applicable.
- Familiarity with standardized testing procedures and tutoring strategies to support student achievement.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with students, parents, colleagues, and administration.
- Ability to adapt instruction for diverse learners including those requiring special education services or Montessori approaches.
- Experience working with students of varying backgrounds; private school experience is a plus.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development through mentoring programs or research initiatives related to education or scientific research fields such as organic chemistry or biochemistry.

Pay: $43,621.16 - $64,576.02 per year
