CLASS TITLE: Adult Education Teacher – CTE Information Technology
BASIC FUNCTION:
Under the direction of the Director of Adult and Career Technology Education, provide an educational program and teach one or more classes of Information Technology to adults; develop, implement and present lesson plans according to established curriculum standards and requirements.

- Provide an educational program within various aspects of Information Technology (hardware, software, computer technologies, etc.) to one or more classes of adults; assure educational programs and related learning activities comply with established curriculum, standards, requirements, laws and regulations. E
- Apply current research-based strategies to provide classroom instruction to enhance student skills and knowledge of Information Technology. E
- Develop, implement and present lesson plans according to established curriculum standards and requirements; coordinate and oversee student practices and assignments in the classroom. E
- Provide individualized and small group instruction and tutoring to assure curriculum and learning activities adapt with the needs of individual students; assist students by answering questions, providing proper examples, supporting student efforts, exhibiting a friendly attitude and offering general guidance. E
- Review, analyze and integrate required instructional materials with lesson plans and learning activities; modify instructional materials to adapt to student needs when appropriate. E
- Distribute and collect student assignments; develop, prepare and administer tests; grade tests and assignments; record grades and maintain student records and files. E
- Take attendance and maintain related records. E
- Evaluate student performance and progress; administer and score performance based and benchmark assessments (including CASAS); adjust activities and materials to meet student skill levels and progress. E
- Prepare students to take and pass Information Technology Certification Examinations.
- Identify the need for data, acquire data or create data sources and evaluate relevance of data. E
- Participate in curriculum development programs for the school; provide input concerning district-wide curriculum development as directed. E

- Maintain classroom in a safe, clean and orderly condition; lock and unlock doors; report needs for maintenance and repairs. E
