Ensuring Chart’s Success…

Chart’s New Prague, MN location is currently seeking candidates interested in our General Laborer position on our day shift. This position plays a key role in the manufacturing process of Chart’s products and is primarily responsible for blasting, grinding and assisting department welders in performing various tank assembly functions.

What Will You Do?

• Operating cranes, forklifts and manlifts.
• Blast and grind plate for internal customers
• Applying logos and decals to vessels
• Help prepare vessels for hydro testing (positioning, filling with water, pressurizing & liquid penetrate testing)
• Maintain required production and inspection records
• Assist with the assembly of vessels or other sub-assemblies
• Maintain the necessary equipment to perform testing
• Observe and practice safety procedures and policies
• May be asked to work in other areas as company needs require
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Your Physical Work Environment Will Require…

• Frequent lifting and carrying up to 40 lbs. and occasionally heavier (50-60 lbs.) with assistance
• Frequent sitting, standing, stooping, bending, twisting, walking and occasional crawling
• Frequent pushing, pulling and handling of materials
• Occasional climbing and working at elevated positions
• Exposure to metal cutting, welding odors, welding flash and incidental acceptable limits of x-ray radiation
• Possible exposure to chemical odors and temperature extremes
• Exposure to overhead objects and occasional flying debris
• Required use of safety glasses with side shields, ANSI approved steel-toed safety shoes, hearing protection and hard hat

Your Experience Should Be...

• Understanding and use of basic blueprints preferred
• Able to accurately read and use a tape measure
• Familiar and comfortable with hand and power tools
• Ability to use and understand various measuring devices
• Computer skills, familiar with navigating a web browser
• Readily takes action on challenges and with a “can do” attitude
• Identifies and seizes new opportunities
• Encourages the open expression of diverse ideas and opinions
• Attentively listens to others
• Admits mistakes and gains insights from experiences
