What are the responsibilities and job description for the Facilities Technician position at Charm Industrial?
About Charm
Our mission is to return the atmosphere to 280 ppm CO₂. We convert excess inedible biomass into carbon-rich bio-oil and inject it into underground storage for permanent carbon removal. At scale, we can use bio-oil to make fossil-free iron.
Our carbon removal efforts began in 2020 with initial purchases from customers like Stripe, Shopify, and Microsoft. Since then, we’ve scaled to thousands of tons of carbon removal, grown to over a hundred employees, and established three locations in San Francisco, Colorado, and Louisiana.
We're expanding our team of ambitious, creative, and hands-on problem solvers. We value psychological safety, collaboration, and continuous learning. We take calculated risks and treat mistakes as opportunities to improve. If you're excited about tackling big challenges, we encourage you to explore our company values.
Come help us reverse climate change. Gigatons or bust!
About The Role
As a Facilities Technician, you will help keep our sites safe, functional, organized, and ready to support the people and operations that depend on them. You’ll be a hands-on member of the Facilities team responsible for responding to day to day facility needs, completing work orders, supporting preventative maintenance, and helping maintain the physical infrastructure of the site.
This role requires someone who is comfortable working across a wide range of facilities tasks. Your day may include troubleshooting building issues, performing general repairs, moving or installing equipment, supporting site setups and teardowns, coordinating with contractors, maintaining common areas, and assisting with projects that improve the reliability and functionality of the facility. You’ll also help identify issues before they become larger problems and communicate when a task requires specialized expertise or outside support.
You’ll work closely with Facilities, Operations, vendors, contractors, and employees across the organization to keep work moving and ensure facility needs are addressed efficiently. Organization and follow through are important in this role; you'll be expected to manage work orders, document completed work, maintain tools and equipment, and keep stakeholders informed when work impacts their space or operations.
The ideal person is resourceful, safety minded, and willing to jump in wherever the team needs support. This is a hands-on role where priorities can change quickly, and success means taking ownership of problems, finding practical solutions, and helping maintain a facility that people can rely on every day.
Your Responsibilities

Our recruiting process is designed to ensure candidates are evaluated fairly, consistently, and in alignment with our equal employment opportunity commitments. AI tools support our team's work, but they do not replace human judgment or determine hiring outcomes.
