Food Service Custodian Job Description:
The Food Service custodian is a flexible individual who can assist with maintaining the cleanliness of the food service department. The candidate should enjoy working in a school environment.
Essential Functions:
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions:
- Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, taking out trash, cleaning floors.
- Cleans food production area, serving area and sitting area during and after meal service.
- Patient with an ability to stay positive under pressure.
- Performs all other kitchen duties as required including assisting in the serving of food items when necessary
- Provides services to cafeteria customers in a friendly and efficient man.
Physical Demands:
- The employee must be able to stand for long periods of time.
- The employee must frequently lift or move objects up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move objects up to 25 pounds
Preferred Education/Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED, preferred but not required
- Prior cafeteria or food industry experience, preferred but not required
