Job Details
Job Title: Academy Therapist (Casual) – Schoolboy Programme U9-16’s
Location: The Valley / Sparrows Lane Training Ground
You will be expected to undertake travel as is necessary to fulfil your job requirements and to the satisfaction of Charlton Athletic FC.
Salary: £TBC – Hourly pay (dependent on experience & qualifications)
Hours: Full time / part time / matchdays inclusive
We are looking for an Academy Therapist (Casual) – Schoolboy Programme U9-16’s to join our team and play an important role in supporting the club’s continued growth and success.
Working within a fast-paced professional football environment, you will contribute to delivering high standards across the club while helping create an environment where players, staff and supporters can thrive.
Assist the Lead Schoolboy Physio in the delivery of physiotherapy services to players in the U9-U16s.
You will promote and protect the physical wellbeing of players, supporting them through injury diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation.

You will promote and protect the physical wellbeing of players, supporting them through injury diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation.
What You'll Be Doing
- Work with the Lead Schoolboy Physio to deliver assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of all U9-U16 injured players
- Ensure the highest levels of safeguarding and player wellbeing are upheld
- Provide pitch-side cover for evening and weekend training sessions, tournaments, friendlies and weekend fixtures
- To manage medical provision and oversee and UK tournaments
- Assist with player screening and testing
- Liaise with coaching staff regarding player availability and progress
- Deliver clinics and rehabilitation to individuals and small groups
- Keep accurate records of all injuries as well as treatment, prevention and rehab sessions and record them on the club’s electronic medical records database (Kitman Labs)
- Communicate with full-time medical staff on academy injures and management
- Take part in CPD and attend in-house developmental training
- Maintain a professional appearance and approach to club duties, always This role will involve working collaboratively with colleagues across the club in a dynamic sporting environment where flexibility, teamwork and professionalism are essential.

- An undergraduate degree in Physiotherapy or Sports Therapy from a recognised University
- Available for evening and weekend work
- Valid Indemnity Insurance
- Live within commutable distance of the Training Ground
- Valid and Enhanced FA DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service) Check- Club to undertake this
- Valid FA Safeguarding Certificate
- For physios HCPC membership/ If Sports Therapist SOST or BASRAT membership
- Experience working in a professional sporting organisation or sports clinic
- Right to Work in the UK
- Up to date Intermittent Emergency First Aid qualification (FA ITMMiF) or sitting the test ASAP
- Master’s Degree in physiotherapy from a recognised University

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- High levels of organisation and attention to detail
