Position Summary
Charlotte’s Coffee House is seeking skilled, dependable, and detail-oriented Bakers to support our high-quality food program across all café locations. This role is responsible for producing fresh baked goods daily—including pastries, muffins, breads, bars, and specialty items—while upholding Charlotte’s signature quality, consistency, and presentation standards. Bakers play a crucial role in ensuring our guests receive exceptional products that complement the warm, welcoming experience we are known for.
This is a hands-on, early-morning position that requires strong time management, precision in following recipes, and the ability to maintain a clean and efficient kitchen environment. While primarily focused on baking, this role may support light prep work, inventory, and cross-functional kitchen tasks as needed.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare, bake, and finish a variety of pastries, baked goods, and café menu items in accordance with Charlotte’s recipes, standards, and production schedules. Execute daily baking tasks with consistency, accuracy, and attention to detail to ensure all items meet quality and freshness expectations.
Monitor ingredient inventory, assist with restocking, and communicate supply needs to management to ensure uninterrupted production.
Follow proper food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness practices, including maintaining organized work areas, equipment, and storage spaces.
Complete daily opening and/or closing kitchen procedures, ensuring the bakery station is fully stocked and prepped for the next shift.
Assist with kitchen prep work as needed, including mixing batters, portioning ingredients, and preparing items for service.
Coordinate with kitchen and front-of-house teams to ensure baked items are delivered on time for display and peak service times.
Label, date, rotate, and store products in accordance with food safety guidelines and company procedures.
Support a positive and collaborative team environment with clear communication and a strong work ethic.
Qualifications
Previous professional baking experience highly preferred, including familiarity with commercial mixers, ovens, and bakery tools.
Strong understanding of ingredient measurements, scaling recipes, and preparing baked goods with consistency.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks and production timelines.
Excellent attention to detail, especially regarding quality, presentation, and sanitation.
Comfortable working early-morning shifts, weekends, and peak business hours.
Knowledge of food safety protocols (ServSafe certification is a plus).
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
Compensation & Benefits
Competitive hourly wage of $12.00–$14.00, supplemented by tips.
