Charlotte's Best Nanny Agency is assisting a family in Denver, NC, in their search for a Full-Time Family Assistant. This family includes two children, one in preschool and one in grade school, and is looking for someone professional, reliable, and passionate about both childcare and keeping a home running smoothly.
Schedule:
This role typically requires an average of 40 hours per week. The schedule is flexible and provided 4 weeks in advance. Flexibility for additional hours is required, as is traveling with the family regularly.
The best Family Assistant is a proactive, energetic "do-er" who thinks ahead and anticipates the family's needs without waiting to be directed on each step. This role requires someone who can provide a consistent, enriching environment for the children and who is comfortable taking initiative around the home. This family hopes to find a long-term fit who will stay on for multiple years.
A Typical Day:
The Family Assistant will follow the children's daily schedule, meet their day-to-day needs, and engage them in fun and educational activities both at home and in the community. The younger child attends preschool a few mornings a week and enjoys fun learning projects (Pinterest-style activities, crafts, etc.). The older child attends school online with an integrated homeschool curriculum that includes agility training, nutrition education, sleep science, and other enrichment topics. The Family Assistant should be energetic and enthusiastic about jumping in to help keep the children engaged and excited about these learning areas. The Family Assistant will provide drop-off and pick-up from activities and school as needed, and while traveling, will plan engaging activities and maintain consistency in the children's routines.
Nanny Responsibilities:
Meet the children's daily scheduling needs
Engage with the children at an age-appropriate level with fun and educational activities
Actively play with the children both indoors and outdoors
Support the children's homeschool curriculum with energy and enthusiasm
Provide drop-off and pick-up from activities and school as needed
Plan activities at home, in the community, and while traveling
Pack and unpack for family travel
Household Duties (children are priority):
Family laundry
Meal prep and cooking
Loading/unloading the dishwasher
Wiping down counters and tidying the kitchen
Tidying the children's bedrooms and common areas (living room, kids' playroom, etc.)
Ensuring outdoor spaces are maintained (e.g., pool toys and towels put away after use)
Grocery shopping and errands
Packing and unpacking for travel
Rotating and organizing clothing
Event setup and teardown (helping as an extra set of hands)
Keeping the home tidy and well-maintained, the family values a proactive approach to tidiness and needs common areas to be tidy between cleaning service visits.
Clean up after yourself and your children at the end of the day, leaving the home in an orderly manner.
Pets:
The family has two hypoallergenic dogs. Duties include feeding them and filling their water bowl.
Qualifications:
At least 3 years of professional Nanny, House Management, or Family Assistant experience
College degree or equivalent experience
Professional resume

Clean national background check, including driving record
Valid driver's license
Minimum of three professional references
CPR and First Aid certified
Fluent in English (additional languages a plus)
Must be able to swim

Legal pay offered at a negotiable hourly rate based on experience
Two weeks of paid time off (requires 8 weeks' notice; mutually agreed upon)
Continued pay during family travel
Paid major holidays (Except those when family is traveling, and the Family Assistant is required to work. Typically includes holidays such as the Fourth of July, Easter, and Thanksgiving).
