POSITION SUMMARY: Position is to provide quality bone-density DEXA studies in accordance with departmental protocol along with quality patient care in accordance with OSHA and HIPAA guidelines. Technologist will work directly with DEXA Specialists and Manager of DEXA Services to communicate any information to identify requirements for patient care and completion of DEXA procedures through finalized reporting process. Must be certified Radiologic Technologist with ARRT and have working knowledge of good general clinical practice skills in radiology setting.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Perform DEXA scans according to protocol and quality assurance guidelines
- Maintain patient area according to OSHA and HIPAA and NC Department of Energy and Natural Resources Radiation Protection Division standards
- Research and update patient information including previous studies for comparison
- Assist with acquiring required patient medical information and documentation needed for exam
Education/Licensing/Certification:
- Junior College/Associate Degree in Radiologic Technology
- ARRT
- CPR Certified
- Less than 1 year of Radiologic Technology experience
- Proficient in basic computer skills in addition to all departmental and company applications
- Basic knowledge patient care
- DEXA specific protocol and policy
- Communication skills to provide optimum patient medical information
- Ability to understand and relay concise and accurate medical information
- Maintain patient area to OSHA and HIPAA standards
- 26-50%
- Full day of walking and standing
- Lift more than 50 lbs.
- Lifting may include assisting patients on and off the scan table
