Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Coach in planning and conducting daily practices, game strategies, and skill development sessions.
- Support the recruitment and retention of student-athletes, promoting the soccer program within the school and community.
- Monitor the academic progress of players, ensuring they maintain eligibility and excel in their studies.
- Foster a positive team environment that emphasizes respect, discipline, and sportsmanship.
- Collaborate with the Head Coach to develop game plans and make in-game adjustments.
- Assist in organizing team events, including fundraising activities, camps, and community service projects.
- Conduct individual and group training sessions to enhance player performance.
- Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school administration regarding team policies, schedules, and expectations.
- Ensure compliance with all school, district, and state athletic regulations.
- Attend coaching clinics and workshops to stay updated on best practices and trends in soccer coaching.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Sports Management, or a related field preferred.
- Previous coaching experience at the high school or collegiate level is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of soccer techniques, strategies, and rules of the game.
- Excellent leadership, motivational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, during the soccer season.
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is required or must be obtained within the first six months of employment.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for all student-athletes.
- A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel for away games and tournaments.
