The warehouse worker, under general supervision, performs skill-based work with minimal decision-making discretion related to day-to-day school nutrition warehouse operations including receiving shipments, stocking and picking items and supplies, and assisting in maintaining adequate stock levels and inventories. Employee performs district-level work to carry out Board of Education policies under the direction of the Warehouse Supervisor, School Nutrition.

Essential Functions
- Adhere to all state, federal, and local laws, policies, and procedures
- Receive school nutrition warehouse materials including food and supplies; verify appropriate quantities are received and notify supervisor of any discrepancies
- Unload shipments with the use of a forklift or pallet jack
- Deliver and stow stock to the proper location within the warehouse
- Pick appropriate materials for shipment based on picking slips
- Prepare materials for delivery or shipment
- Assist in maintaining the school nutrition warehouse in a clean and orderly condition
- Participate in cycle counts and maintain inventory accuracy
- Operate various warehouse equipment including a forklift, electric power lift, hand drills, hand truck, and any other equipment needed to complete assigned tasks
- Perform related work as assigned or required
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulatory requirements
- Knowledge of county and school board policies, procedures, and standards
- Knowledge of general warehouse operations and best practices
- Knowledge of basic inventory material handling and procurement practices to support all incoming and outgoing movements of inventory
- Knowledge of organization practices
- Knowledge of basic math and data entry skills
- Skilled in communication, both verbal and written
- Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships
- Ability to problem-solve utilizing sound judgment
- Ability to respond appropriately to situations while maintaining a professional and personable demeanor
- Ability to use or learn specialized tools, equipment, or software
- Ability to take initiative and work independently
- Ability to work effectively in a deadline-driven, rapidly changing team environment
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Prior experience in food distribution, food service, or related experience preferred
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
- Possession of or ability to obtain a valid forklift operators certification
- Possession of or ability to obtain Hazardous Materials Training certification
- Possess and maintain a valid driver's license or ability to provide own transportation
- Travel to school district buildings and professional meetings
