Principal Talent Pool: Our commitment is to have a transparent selection process that respects the profession of CMS principals. We have designed our Asst. Principal Talent Pool process to provide applicants with the opportunity to demonstrate their qualifications as they relate to what is required on the job. Candidates are permitted to apply once each academic year.

- Sitting K-12 principals with at least one complete years (school years) experience
- Application - An online application including a structured resume, detailed letter of interest, and recommendations. Applications must contain all required information and will be screened using a rubric.
- Interview -This is a live/virtual or in-person event. Candidates are selected based on the outcomes of the initial screening. Those who are selected to interview will be provided more information about this screening day.
- A Letter of Interest that includes your response to specific guiding questions. Instructions for the Principal Talent Pool letter of interest are available here . Please assure that your letter of interest documents measurableresults of your leadership activities.
- A Structured Resume that provides information about your work and leadership experiences, accomplishments, and results. Instructions are the same for the school executive talent pools and can be found here . A sample resume can be found here . Please assure that your resume documents measurable results of your leadership activities.
- Two completed CMS reference forms: Two completed supervisory reference forms (requested within 6 months of this application submission) are required. Please add two supervisors to the reference section of your online application. The application system will send an automated email to the email address(es) you provide. Please note: These references are confidential and must be from a current or former supervisor. An updated reference is one that is completed within the last 6 months. Please ensure that you follow up with your references as your application will be considered incomplete if you have "pending" references. You can view the progress of your references by clicking on the references tab in your application.
- Summative End-of-Year Evaluation from 2024-2025 School Year: Please include the position you held at the time of the evaluation.
