General Definition of Work
The After School Enrichment Program (ASEP) staffing coordinator, under general supervision, coordinates the recruitment, pre-employment, onboarding, and development of staff for ASEP. As a retention strategy, builds relationships with staff to help them navigate the district and support them in their role. Supports the ASEP to carry out the Board of Education's policies and procedures related to pre-employment and other human resources-related functions.

Place of Work
The normal place of work is on the premises used by Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. Charlotte- Mecklenburg Schools reserves the right to require you to work at such other place(s) as it may require from time to time.
Essential Functions
- Adhere to all state, federal, and local laws, policies, and procedures
- Assist with expanding the ASEP program across the district
- Attend recruitment events and utilize district approved technology platforms for recruitment
- Screen applications to identify qualified candidates
- Assist hiring managers with scheduling interviews and participate in the interview process
- Collaborate with Human Resources to support candidates in completing pre-employment activities in a timely manner
- Support new hires in completing payroll and tax documents, including direct deposit
- Establish and maintain a documented process to identify and track new hires that need to participate in the onboarding experience
- Develop and conduct the onboarding process, with appropriate and relevant information for both non-exempt hourly workers and exempt supervisory employees
- Schedule new hires for their onboarding experience including reviewing CMS internet and intranet, review of where Board of Education policies are located (specifically personnel-related policies and regulations), review of District goals, explanation of CMS expectations related to performance evaluation and Professional Development Plans (PDP), etc.
- Coordinate the scheduling of school-specific onboarding
- Provide training and resources to new hires on district technology and platforms
- Provide strong customer service and support to new hires, transfers and promoted staff who have questions during on-boarding process, providing complete and accurate information
- Collaborate to streamline processes and practices related to ASEP staffing
- Compile and prepare data, spreadsheets, reports, and documents
- Perform related duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Knowledge and understanding of the components of the hiring and onboarding processes
- Knowledge of the principles, policies, and practices of Human Resources administration
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal policies, procedures, and regulations to maintain compliance
- Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Ability to plan, manage and prioritize work to meet deadlines
- Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences, orally and in writing, including electronic media
- Ability to establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with all stakeholders
- Operating knowledge of computer programs, including email, word processing and spreadsheets
- Excellent time management skills and ability to organize, prioritize, manage, and perform duties efficiently and within established timeframes
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding employee records and district documentation
Education and Experience
- Associate degree in human resources, business, or other field required
- Equivalent combination of experience and education
Special Requirements
- Possess and maintain a NC Driver's License or ability to provide own transportation.
- Travel to school district buildings, hiring events and professional meetings.
