What are the responsibilities and job description for the Billing Supervisor position at Charlotte Gastroenterology & Hepatology?
Charlotte Gastro is seeking a Billing Supervisor to help lead our medical billing team. This position is responsible for supervising and overseeing daily billing operations. The ideal candidate has strong leadership skills and a deep knowledge of medical billing practices.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Supervises the daily operations of the billing office support functions.
2. Assist the Billing Manager in developing, implementing and revising departmental policies and procedures.
3. Responsible for identifying and correcting billing and processing problems for patient accounts.
4. Assist billing staff with any questions they may have on accounts or processes.
5. Identifies if further investigation is needed on accounts and advise staff on next steps needed to resolve account issues.
6. Assists in providing education on new and established processes for staff as needed.
7. Participate in onboarding of new hires and performance evaluation of billing staff.
8. Assists with escalated patient calls.
9. Works on special assigned projects as needed.
10. Performs error resolutions requiring independent judgment.
11. Monitor and identify payer trends and keep current with payer policy updates.
12. Other duties as assigned by Manager.
EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum of five years medical billing office experience and two years of supervisory or management experience preferred.
