This is a mid-level, professional staff, full-time position with the City’s Communications Department. An individual in this position plans and coordinates various aspects of the Television (MCTV) production, while serving as in-house technical support specialist.
Examples of Work
Active participant in the development of the broadcast capabilities of the City’s Television Station (MCTV Channel 16):
- Researches news stories and writes scripts for newscast and other video projects;
- Designs, creates, and produces professional quality television programs consistent with current trends, best practices and within production budgets;
- Coordinates productions and develops production schedules and crew assignments;
- Provides ongoing maintenance and minor repairs to video production and related equipment;
- Evaluates and makes recommendations for equipment maintenance, repair, and upgrades as necessary;
- Inspect and test lines and cables, recording, and analyzing test results, to assess transmission characteristics and locate faults and malfunctions.
- Install equipment such as amplifiers and repeaters in order to maintain the strength of communications transmissions.
- Monitor postproduction processes to ensure accurate completion of details.
- Compose and edit scripts or provide screenwriters with story outlines from which scripts can be written.
- Perform other related duties as assigned
