Position Summary
Charlotte 49ers Ventures is seeking an entrepreneurial sales leader to oversee its Revenue Development team while serving as an active revenue producer. Operating within a lean, high-performing commercial organization, the Sr. Director of  Revenue Development is responsible for coaching and developing Account Executives while personally driving revenue through premium seating, strategic ticket sales, corporate partnerships, and annual fund opportunities.

This position serves as the leader of Charlotte Athletics' outbound sales engine, establishing the prospecting culture, coaching daily sales activity, and ensuring a consistent pipeline of qualified opportunities across every major revenue vertical.

Success in this role requires a player-coach mentality. The Sr. Director leads by example, develops future sales professionals, and collaborates across Charlotte 49ers Ventures to maximize revenue growth and fan engagement.

Essential Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Development
  • Recruit, hire, train, mentor, and develop the Revenue Development team. 
  • Establish team revenue goals, activity standards, and key performance metrics. 
  • Conduct daily coaching, pipeline reviews, call evaluations, and professional development sessions. 
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. 
  • Lead by example through consistent personal sales production. 

Revenue Development
  • Oversee outbound prospecting strategies that generate qualified opportunities across tickets, premium seating, corporate partnerships, and annual fund initiatives. 
  • Monitor sales pipelines, forecasting, CRM activity, and conversion rates. 
  • Assist Account Executives in identifying, qualifying, and closing strategic opportunities. 

Personal Sales Production
  • Maintain a personal portfolio of premium seating, hospitality, and high-value ticket accounts. 
  • Develop and close strategic corporate partnership opportunities in collaboration with the Partnerships team. 
  • Identify and cultivate prospective annual fund donors and major engagement opportunities. 
  • Build relationships with community leaders, alumni, and business executives. 

Cross-Functional Revenue Leadership
  • Partner with Corporate Partnerships, Athletics Development, Marketing, Communications, and Fan Engagement to execute integrated revenue strategies. 
  • Develop innovative outreach campaigns that expand Charlotte Athletics' fan base and commercial relationships. 
  • Support pricing strategies, premium inventory planning, and new revenue initiatives. 
  • Assist with game-day operations, hospitality events, and executive-level customer engagement. 

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required. 
  • 3–7 years of experience in ticket sales, business development, fundraising, or professional/collegiate sports sales. 
  • Previous experience leading or mentoring sales professionals preferred. 
  • Proven track record of exceeding revenue goals and developing new business. 
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and leadership skills. 
  • Experience with CRM platforms and sales reporting systems. 
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
